Description

Fastermind Games is a label created by Jonathan X., a skilled writer and designer, in order to develop high quality narrative-based games such as visual novels and adventure titles.

History

Early history

Fastermind Games was created in 2010 with the mission to create a full-length RPG. Though these early efforts fell through, our first full title was released in 2011, the freeware The Caldwell Incident, a short sci-fi adventure game created using RPG Maker XP. Our next released title was AMI: Autonomous Assistant, a short visual novel also of the sci-fi genre that was released in 2013 and created using the Ren'py Engine. In 2014, we released Icebound, a novel-length commercial dark fantasy title created in Ren'py that combines anime-inspired art with a storyline revolving around alchemy and steampunk themes.

Future plans

Late in the development of Icebound, a Kickstarter was successfully funded to support voice acting for the title. Icebound was released in early 2014. We hope to continue using the powerful cross-platform Ren'py engine while adding more advanced adventure gameplay to our titles such as investigation and world exploration. The ultimate goal of Fastermind Games is to create unique adventure games with original settings and stories, and perhaps RPGs at some time in the future.
